worked up a speed painting...wanted to try an underwater scene...after painting a few tropical fish in the background I got carried away...guessing the starwas purchase by disney must have been lurking in my subconscious and voila

First thing that popped in my head, "Vaginapus".
But really great job on it, underwater fish deaths are the sickest~!

Lol, it was a poor attempt at hommaging some of the creature designs from starship troopers and other films, though they were a little subtler with their reference. Thank you

It is very disturbing, but I love the lighting you have used, although the nemo thing leaves me a little upset... poor Nemo.. I love how you did dory as well in the picture :P

Anyway, I love the detail on the tentacles and I'm envious of the rock behind the.. octopusy thing xD the texture on it is awesome!

thanks :) think that was a rock texture brush, literally just do a pass at one value, resize the brush and paint over again using soft light layers to add more depth...you can get a similar effect with the chalk brushes, if you adjust the spacing and randomise rotation a little, then use it kind of like a stamp, small strokes, and the cragginess sort of appears

Very nice atmosphere. The clownfish being ripped apart is a nice feature.

Thank you, I shudder at some of the reference material I trawled up for that (fish guts, shark attacks, chum in water) and I still couldn't quite nail it, but it was interesting practise. Initially the fish were very different, but I thought something brighter would be eyecatching, and orange stands out against greens and blue, so clownfish it became and the rest then span off from there

This is so graphic in a way, man. Really well done though, I love the tentacle on the far left. It just looks really good to me XD.

You will, it'll just have that air of sadness at the end, knowing they ended up as snack food for an octupus merman thingy
